How do I measure a box?

RSC drawing with dimensions.

Box dimensions are typically measured using the inside dimensions of the box unless otherwise specified. Measurements are taken from the opening of the assembled box: the longer side is the length, the shorter side is the width, and the side perpendicular to both is the depth.

Box sizes are commonly written in the format: Length × Width × Depth (L × W × D).
